Leilah at Seven Months

This month Leilah:

  • has been doing a lot of crunches, trying to sit herself up and strengthen her core.
  • had lots of funny shrieking noises.
  • began spinning herself around the mat during tummy time, reaching out and grabbing things all around her.
  • was able to stay upright while sitting up.
  • played with her zoo activity center lots.
  • went to the Seattle Aquarium for the first time and the zoo also (she was fascinated with the meerkats).
  • accompanied mom and Micah to some Stroller Strides at Lincoln Park and Alki.
  • been entertained by her big brother most of each day.
  • has taken an interest in Charlie, the dog, grabbing him. He doesn't seem to mind!
  • traveled with Mom to Micah's gymnastics camp each day for a week.
  • had lots of signs of teething as she "chomps" on her fingers lots.
  • ate solid food purees a couple times a day. Lots of carrot, sweet potato, banana, pear, oatmeal and combinations of some along with a little cinnamon or nutmeg sometimes too. She also ate a bunch of Israeli Bamba's which are little easily dissolvable peanut corn puffs. Seems like she is safe from the peanut allergy!
  • traveled back to Nana & Papa's house in California and made her first trip to the family cabin in Twain Harte. She enjoyed time at the lake and being in the woods as well as her first "ride" on the horsey tree. She & Micah got to see Great Gramma Jacquie, Great Great Uncle Herm, and also got to attend Great Aunt Leslie & Uncle Will's 50th Anniversary party and get time with Aunt Beth & Uncle Benj.
  • visited friends in Camas, WA as well as the Columbia River over Labor Day Weekend. She interacted with her one year old friend Odin a lot, which was cute.
  • began to join big brother in their shared bedroom and slept in her dock-a-tot in her crib. She still is waking up three times during the night and needs mom to put her back to sleep, but her first chunk of sleep is increasing in length again (to 4-5 hours).
