Monopoly 13/31 #sol17

I haven’t been this excited about Monopoly since we used to play it as a kid at McDonalds! Last year was the first year I played the Safeway version and only kind of half-heartedly. 

This year though, it coincides with my maternity leave, so I’ve got time and energy to dedicate to the cause. I’ve got a little system now. I first push the perforation back and forth and then rip each side off the game piece. Then I sort the pieces into three piles; one for online game codes, one for instant wins or coupons that I actually want to use, and the last for the monopoly pieces. Next, I take the monopoly pieces and sort them alphabetically by the first number and letter. Finally I grab my little wet sponge to adhere each piece to the game board. I set the duplicate pieces aside in a pile so that I can maybe share with my community and friends. Once I have added all the pieces to the board, I realize that I am just two pieces away from winning the $1 million!! Ha. What would the chances of that be? Not very good, but I can’t help but still get a little revved up at the thought of it! Finally, I take the online codes and enter them. I won 7 Fandango tokens, whatever that means, and only need three more to get something…I’m not sure what! Ha! Still fun to see the little green box pop up instead of a red one. I’ve never before looked forward to my next weekly grocery trip like I am now!
